 At the turn of the last century our Great Grandfather, Fillipo Guiseppe Catanzaro, came to America with a dream. A fisherman from Sicily, he sought a better life for he and his family, Circa 1903 he sold fresh fruit and produce from a horse drawn wagon. Innovative for that period, his method allowed him to infiltrate upscale neighborhoods unlike his counterparts who were selling from push carts on street corners. We opened our first fixed location around 1920 on the corner of Knight & Tell streets in Providences Federal Hill Section. Our Grandfather & Father expanded to a new location in Warwick in the early 1940's. They began selling wholesale to restaurants and fine eating establishments and quickly gained a reputation for selling only the highest quality products available. You may recall some of these names from the great places of yesteryear. Winkle's Steak House, The Chalet, Turk's Head Club, Copper Galley, The Light House Inn, The Driftwood Inn, Armand's and the Narragansett Hotel to mention a few. As you can see we have a history to be very proud of!Maintaining the tradition of 4 generations of Commitment & Quality, we now operate from a modern warehouse facility boasting over 9000 sf. of shipping, receiving, manufacturing, & temperature storage space. We are centrally located with the Route 95 corridor on the Pawtucket/ Providence line. In addition to providing a full line of fresh produce items for the wholesale food service industry; we also operate a retail outlet that sells to the public and a food manufacturing division where we produce Catanzaro's Pasta SauceĀ along with an array of Home-Style Cookies and Biscuits.
